The centrepiece metal tear is lovingly crafted by artisans in Carolina, USA who specialise in creating unique curvaceous shapes that hark back to antique Byzantine metalwork, yet are undeniably modern. Each tear is unique and has its own subtle character. Subtle variation in metal texture, hammering techniques, and natural oxidising will exist, a part of the charm of a handmade piece.

The silver teardrop pendant is forged of thick, square, oxidized silver(nickel) and will gently oxidize with wear but will remain silver.

The gold teardrop pendant is made using thick 14 gauge solid brass, antiqued gold and waxed to create a glorious patina.

We use the very best turquoise for The Tear, either Sleeping Beauty or Castle Dome nuggets, and select carefully for optimum colour and shape to enhance this premium piece.

Such variations are not seen as imperfections but as a characteristic of artisan work, distinguishing it from mass-produced factory jewellery and adding to the character and uniqueness of your jewellery.

Years of wear rewards loving care

Many of our pieces include delicate natural components which should be treated with appropriate care to prevent damage. Some items are provided with a special cleaning cloth — please use this exclusively to keep your piece in pristine condition. Fragile components such as precious metal delicate chains break under stress, and natural materials including leather, bone and feathers can be damaged by moisture or inappropriate storage. While we are happy to repair or refund jewellery which is faulty on arrival, unfortunately we are unable to do this where the piece has been damaged through inappropriate handling. Where we agree to repair a piece damaged by the wearer, the owner will be liable for the cost of postage.
